Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (As On 01 August 2026)

• Minimum Age : 21 Years
• Maximum Age (UR Male) : 37 Years
• Maximum Age (UR Female) : 40 Years
• Maximum Age (BC/ EBC Male, Female) : 40 Years
• Maximum Age (SC/ ST Male, Female) : 42 Years
• Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) regulations.
• Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in relevant fields such as Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university in India. Additionally, candidates must have successfully passed the FSSAI Food Analyst Examination conducted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi.

Selection Process for Food Analyst Posts

• Stage 1: Written Examination: Candidates will undergo a written examination designed to assess their knowledge in relevant subjects like Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, and Veterinary Science. The exam pattern, syllabus, duration, and marking scheme will be detailed in the official notification. Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly based on the prescribed syllabus.
• Stage 2: Preparation of Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in the Written Examination. Higher scores will place candidates higher on the merit list, increasing their chances of selection. In case of a tie, criteria such as age or specific academic achievements might be used, as per BTSC rules.
• Stage 3: Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be called for document verification. Candidates must present all original educational certificates (Degree, Mark sheets), FSSAI Food Analyst Examination passing certificate, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, identity proof, and other relevant documents as specified in the official notification. Any discrepancy can lead to disqualification.
• Stage 4: Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who successfully clear the document verification stage will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the physical and medical fitness standards required for the post.
