Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Age : 16.5 Years
• Maximum Age : 19.5 Years
• Age Limit Cutoff Date : Candidates must be born between 02 July 2007 and 01 July 2010 (both dates inclusive) for the TES-56 course. The age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.
• Educational Qualification :
  • Candidates must have successfully passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM stream) from a recognized Education Board.
  • It is now mandatory for candidates to have appeared in the JEE Mains 2026 examination. Only candidates with a valid JEE Mains 2026 score will be considered for shortlisting.

Selection Process

• 1. Shortlisting of Applications: Initial shortlisting of candidates will be based on a combination of their JEE Mains 2026 rank and their 10+2 PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) aggregate percentage. Candidates will be invited for an SSB interview based on the cutoff determined by the Indian Army.
• 2. SSB Interview (5 Days): Shortlisted candidates will undergo a rigorous five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview at various centers (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jalandhar). This process includes:
  • Stage I (Screening Test): Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT). Candidates clearing Stage I proceed to Stage II.
  • Stage II:
    • Psychology Tests: Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), Self-Description Test (SDT).
    • Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks: Group Discussion, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Task, Half Group Task, Individual Obstacles, Command Task, Group Obstacle Race (Snake Race), Lecturette, Final Group Task.
    • Personal Interview: Conducted by the Interviewing Officer to assess personality, leadership qualities, and general awareness.
    • Conference: A final meeting where all assessors evaluate the candidate.
• 3. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the SSB interview will undergo thorough document verification. It is crucial to carry all original educational certificates, mark sheets, identity proofs, and other supporting documents as specified in the official notification. Any discrepancy will lead to disqualification.
• 5. Final Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview. Candidates high in the merit list and declared medically fit will be offered the opportunity to join the Technical Entry Scheme course for pre-commission training.
