Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

  • General Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2002 and 01 July 2006 (both dates inclusive), unless specified differently for a particular entry.

Selection Process

  • Stage 1: Application Shortlisting (Based on Merit)
    • Applications will be scrutinised based on the academic qualifications and marks obtained by the candidates as specified in the official notification.
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the SSB interview based on their preferences for entries and marks obtained in the qualifying degree. A uniform cut-off will be applied for candidates applying for a particular entry.
    • The number of candidates to be called for the SSB interview will be decided by the Indian Navy.
    • Stage 2: SSB Interview
      • Shortlisted candidates will be called for a five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview conducted in two stages.
      • Stage I (Day 1): Consists of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT). Candidates failing to clear Stage I will be returned on the same day.
      • Stage II (Day 2-5): Includes Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, Interview, and Conference.
      • These tests assess a candidate’s officer-like qualities, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and suitability for a career in the Indian Navy.
      1. Stage 3: Medical Examination

        • Candidates who qualify in the SSB interview will undergo a detailed medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers.
        • Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards as per Indian Navy rules. Any candidate found medically unfit can appeal for a review medical board.
      2. Stage 4: Final Merit List
        • A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by candidates in the SSB interview.
        • Candidates who are medically fit and placed high enough in the merit list as per the number of vacancies will be issued a Letter of Appointment.

Executive Branch (Total: 172 Posts)

  • SSC General Service (GS/X) – 90 Posts
    • Eligibility: BE / B.Tech in Any Discipline with a minimum of 60% Marks.
    • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008.
    • Air Traffic Controller (ATC) – 15 Posts
      • Eligibility: B.Tech in Any Discipline with a minimum of 60% Marks. Additionally, candidates must have secured 60% Marks in Class 10th & 12th, and also 60% Marks in English in Class 10th & 12th.
      • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2002 and 01 July 2006.
      1. Naval Air Operations Officer (NAOO) – 18 Posts

        • Eligibility: BE / B.Tech in Any Stream with a minimum of 60% Marks. Additionally, candidates must have secured 60% Marks in Class 10th & 12th, and also 60% Marks in English in Class 10th & 12th.
        • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2008.
      2. SSC Pilot – 25 Posts
        • Eligibility: BE / B.Tech in Any Stream with a minimum of 60% Marks. Additionally, candidates must have secured 60% Marks in Class 10th & 12th, and also 60% Marks in English in Class 10th & 12th.
        • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2008.
      3. SSC Logistics – 10 Posts
        • Eligibility: BE / B.Tech in Any Stream OR MBA / MCA / M.Sc (IT) OR B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc (IT) with PG Diploma in Finance, all with 1st Class Marks.
        • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008.
      4. Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC) – 14 Posts
        • Eligibility: BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks in streams such as Mechanical, Mechanical with Automation, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics, Micro Electronics, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communication, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical, Industrial Production, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Application, Metallurgy, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, or a Post Graduate degree in Electronics/Physics.
