The Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala has released an official notification (Notice No. A-1/2026) for the recruitment of Act Apprentices for the year 2026. A total of 734 vacancies are available for various trades. Interested candidates can apply online from 07 August 2026 to 05 September 2026. Age Relaxation: RCF provides age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per Government of India rules and RCF regulations. Candidates belonging to reserved categories should refer to the official notification for specific details on age relaxation benefits.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent from a recognized board in India with a minimum aggregate percentage (usually 50%, though specific percentage should be confirmed from the official notification if not stated here). Additionally, candidates must possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade/branch from an institution affiliated to NCVT/SCVT.
Selection Process
Merit List: The selection of candidates for the RCF Kapurthala Apprentice positions will be based on a merit list. This merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in both their Matriculation (10th class) examination and their ITI examination. Equal weightage (50% for 10th and 50% for ITI) will be given to both qualifications.
Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list will be called for Document Verification. It is crucial to present all original documents along with self-attested photocopies. Failure to produce required documents or any discrepancies found will lead to disqualification.
Medical Examination: After successful document verification, candidates will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the prescribed physical fitness standards for the apprentice training as per Railway norms.
