Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must adhere to the age limits and educational qualifications set by the Indian Air Force for the Medical Assistant Airmen trade.
Medical Assistant trade (10+2): An unmarried candidate born between 01 January 2006 and 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive).
Medical Assistant trade (Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy):
For Unmarried candidates: Must be born between 01 January 2003 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive).
For Married candidates: Must be born between 01 January 2003 and 01 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).
Upper Age Limit: The maximum age limit for all categories is 21 Years.

Airforce Group Y/ Medical Assistant Airmen Intake 01/2027 : Eligibility & Medical Standards
Educational Qualification:
Medical Assistant Trade (10+2): Candidates must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks specifically in English is mandatory. Alternatively, candidates who completed a two-year vocational course with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) with the same minimum marks from a recognized board are also eligible.
Medical Assistant Trade (Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy): Candidates must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English). Additionally, they must possess a Diploma or B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, along with a valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
For candidates up to the age of 21 Years: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes.
For candidates above 21 years of age and holding Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes 30 Seconds.
Additional PFT-II requirements include 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within specified time limits.
Medical Standards:
Height: Minimum 152.5 cms.
Chest: Should be well-proportioned and well-developed with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms.
Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, i.e., able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
Visual Standards: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/9 each eye; Maximum limits of Refractive Error Not exceeding + 3.50D including Astigmatism.
Airforce Group Y/ Medical Assistant Airmen Intake 01/2027 : Mode Of Selection
Phase I: Online Written Test: This initial stage assesses candidates’ knowledge.
English: Consists of 20 questions, carrying 20 marks, to be completed in 17 minutes. It tests comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary.
Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA): Comprises 30 questions for 30 marks, with a duration of 28 minutes. This section covers logical reasoning, general science, current affairs, and basic computer knowledge.
The total duration for the written test is 45 minutes for 50 questions, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT-I & PFT-II): Candidates who clear the written test proceed to PFT.
PFT-I (Running): A 1.6 Km run, to be completed within 7 minutes for candidates up to 21 years, and 7 minutes 30 seconds for those above 21 years (Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy holders).
PFT-II (Exercises): Includes 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats, each to be completed within stipulated timeframes. Proper technique is crucial.
Phase II: Adaptability Test-II: This test evaluates a candidate’s suitability for military life and ability to adapt to the Air Force environment, often involving situational reactions and group discussions.
Proficiency Test: This is a trade-specific test to assess the practical skills and knowledge required for the Medical Assistant role. Details of this test are typically provided in the official notification.
