- PHd Eligibility:
- Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required for General, OBC (Creamy Layer), and EWS candidates.
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for SC/ST/PH/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.

Selection Process- The selection process for Allahabad University PHd Admission 2026 will be primarily based on an Entrance Test, followed by an Interview/Counselling process.
- Stage 1: Entrance Test (CRET – Combined Research Entrance Test)
- The university conducts a written entrance test to assess a candidate’s research aptitude, subject-specific knowledge, and analytical skills.
- The exam pattern typically involves two papers: Paper I (Research Methodology/General Aptitude) and Paper II (Subject-Specific).
- Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the university (e.g., 50% for unreserved categories, 45% for reserved categories) to be eligible for the next stage.
- Stage 2: Interview/Presentation
- Shortlisted candidates from the entrance test will be called for an interview.

- Stage 3: Document Verification

- Documents to Carry (Typically): Original Marksheets and Certificates of 10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation. Valid Photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License), Passport size photographs, Category/Caste Certificate (if applicable), Income and Asset Certificate for EWS (if applicable), Migration Certificate, Character Certificate.
- Stage 4: Final Merit List
- A final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in the Entrance Test and Interview, adhering to the reservation policies of the Central University of Allahabad.
