Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria As On 19 August 2026

• Minimum Age : 18 Years
• Maximum Age : 24 Years
• Age Relaxation : Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India rules and IGCAR regulations. This typically includes:
  • OBC Category: 3 Years
  • SC/ST Category: 5 Years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 Years
• Eligibility Criteria for IGCAR Trade Apprentice:
  • Candidates must have passed SSC / Matriculation / 10th Class Examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
  • Additionally, candidates must possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade, issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.
  • Relevant trades typically include Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Machinist, Turner, Instrument Mechanic, Electronic Mechanic, Plumber, Carpenter, Draughtsman (Mechanical/Civil), COPA, etc. Candidates should refer to the official notification for specific trade-wise eligibility details.

Selection Process for IGCAR Trade Apprentice 2026

• The selection process for IGCAR Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will consist of the following stages:
• Online Exam: Candidates will first undergo an online written examination. This exam is likely to test general aptitude, basic science, arithmetic, and trade-specific knowledge. It is crucial for candidates to prepare thoroughly for their respective trades.
• Interview (Viva-Voce): Shortlisted candidates from the online exam will be called for an interview. The interview assesses the candidate’s communication skills, understanding of their trade, general awareness, and overall suitability for the apprenticeship program.
• Document Verification (DV): Candidates provisionally selected after the interview will be required to appear for document verification. At this stage, all original documents related to educational qualifications, age, caste, and other claims made in the application form will be meticulously checked.
  • Documents Required for DV:
    • Class 10th Mark Sheet and Certificate
    • ITI Mark Sheets and Certificate (NCVT/SCVT)
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable, for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates)
    • Aadhar Card / PAN Card / Other Photo ID Proof
    • Date of Birth Proof (e.g., Class 10th Certificate)
    • Passport size photographs
    • Any other relevant certificates as mentioned in the official notification.
• Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who successfully clear document verification will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the prescribed physical fitness standards required for the apprentice role. This includes a general physical check-up.
• The final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the Online Exam and Interview, subject to successful Document Verification and Medical Examination.
