Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (As on 01 August 2026)
Correction: Age limits are typically maximum, not minimum 25 for UG.
For UG Courses (B.Tech, B.Sc, Diploma): Minimum Age: 17 Years; Maximum Age: 25 Years (General/OBC). Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates up to 30 Years.
For PG/Research Courses (M.Tech, MBA): Maximum Age: 30 Years (Category wise relaxation as per rules).
Eligibility for UG Courses (B.Tech, B.Sc, Diploma): Passed 10+2 Class 12th Examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects, usually with a minimum aggregate percentage (e.g., 60% in PCM and 50% in English in 10th or 12th standard). Some courses may also accept JEE Main Rank. Specific details are available in the official Information Brochure.
Eligibility for BBA Courses: Passed 10+2 Grade Marks from a recognized board. No Entrance Test (IMU CET) required for BBA.
Eligibility for M.Tech Courses: Candidates must hold a relevant undergraduate engineering degree and have valid GRE Scores of at least 300 (or as per updated norms).
Eligibility for MBA Courses: Candidates must hold a relevant undergraduate degree and have valid GMAT Score of at least 480 (or as per updated norms).

How to Download Admit Card
Step 1 : Visit the official website of the Indian Maritime University (IMU) or click on the “Download Admit Card” direct link provided in the “Important Links” section below.
Step 2 : Navigate to the “Admissions” or “Candidate Login” section on the homepage.
Step 3 : Click on the “IMU CET Admit Card 2026” link.
Step 4 : Enter your required login credentials: Registration Number / Application Number and Password / Date of Birth. You may also need to enter a Captcha Code as displayed.
Step 5 : Click on the “Login” or “Submit” button.
Step 6 : Your IMU CET 2026 Admit Card will appear on the screen. Carefully verify all details such as your name, photograph, signature, exam date, time, and center.
Step 7 : Click on the “Download” button to save the PDF file of your admit card to your device.
Step 8 : Take at least two clear printouts of the admit card. It is mandatory to carry this printout to the examination hall. Keep a copy safe for future reference.
Mode of Selection: The primary mode of selection for most undergraduate and postgraduate courses (except BBA) is through the IMU Common Entrance Test (CET). This is followed by online counselling based on CET rank and subsequent Medical Examination.
Written Exam (IMU CET):
The IMU CET is an online Computer Based Test (CBT).
The exam typically consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Subjects usually include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge, and Aptitude.
For UG courses, the duration is generally 3 hours, with 200 marks. There is typically no negative marking.
