Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit as on 01 January 2026:
  • Minimum Age : 18 Years
  • Maximum Age (Male) : 33 Years
  • Maximum Age (Female) : 38 Years
  • MPESB provides age relaxation for the MP Police Sub Inspector SI & Subedar posts as per their regulations. Candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) may be eligible for age relaxation as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process

  • Prelims Written Exam: This is the initial screening stage comprising objective-type questions designed to assess general knowledge, aptitude, reasoning, and basic language skills. Candidates must qualify this exam to proceed further.
  • Mains Written Exam: A more detailed examination for shortlisted candidates from the Prelims. It includes papers on general studies, technical subjects (for specialized posts), and language proficiency, contributing significantly to the merit list.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET):
    • Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates’ physical measurements such as height, chest (for male candidates), and weight are checked against prescribed standards.
    • Physical Endurance Test (PET): Assesses candidates’ physical fitness through events like running, long jump, and high jump, which must be completed within specified criteria.
    • Personal Interview: Candidates who clear the written and physical tests will undergo an interview to evaluate their personality, communication skills, general awareness, and overall suitability for a responsible position in the police force.
    • Medical Examination: A comprehensive medical assessment to ensure candidates are physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a Sub Inspector or Subedar in the Madhya Pradesh Police.
