Application Fee

• For General / OBC / EWS : ₹ 500/-
• For SC / ST / EBC : ₹ 250/-
• For All Category female : ₹ 250/-
• Fee Refund Policy : A sum of Rs. 400/- will be refunded for General / OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for other categories (SC/ST/EBC/Female) to their bank account after appearing in the Stage-I Computer Based Test (CBT).
• Payment Mode (Online): Candidates can make the payment using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Card / Mobile Wallet.

Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age Relaxation : Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) provides age relaxation for various categories (SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD etc.) as per extant government regulations. Detailed age relaxation guidelines will be specified in the full official notification.
• Total Posts : 1250 Vacancies
• Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, etc.) from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India. Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are generally not eligible unless their final results are declared and they possess the degree certificate before the specified cut-off date mentioned in the official notification.

Selection Process

• Online Examination (Computer Based Test – CBT) : The selection process for Station Master typically involves two stages of Computer Based Tests (CBT-1 and CBT-2). CBT-1 is a common qualifying exam, while CBT-2 is more comprehensive, covering subjects like General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and specific topics relevant to the post. Candidates need to clear both stages to proceed further.
• Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) : For the Station Master post, a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) is a mandatory and critical stage. This test assesses psychological attributes and cognitive abilities essential for operational roles, such as memory, concentration, and perceptual speed. Only candidates who qualify in the CBAT will be considered for further stages.
• Document Verification (DV) : Shortlisted candidates, based on their performance in the CBTs and CBAT, will be called for Document Verification. During this stage, all original educational certificates (10th, 12th, Graduation), caste certificates (if applicable), proof of identity, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents will be thoroughly verified against the details provided in the online application.
• Medical Examination : After successful document verification, candidates undergo a comprehensive medical examination as per the strict standards prescribed by Indian Railways. This includes rigorous vision tests (A2 medical standard is often required for Station Master posts), hearing tests, and a general physical assessment to ensure the candidate is medically fit to perform the duties of a Station Master.
