Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (as on 06 November 2026):
  • Minimum Age : 15 Years
  • Maximum Age : 24 Years
  • Age relaxation is provided as per Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) rules for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) which will be detailed in the official notification. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for specific age relaxation details.
• Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must have passed Class 10th (High School / Matriculation) examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Additionally, candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
  • Specific trade-wise eligibility details will be available in the detailed official notification.

Selection Process

• The selection of candidates for RRC NWR Apprentice posts will be based on a Merit List. This merit list will be prepared considering the following:
  • Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be drawn up on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in Matriculation (Class 10th with minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done. The average of the marks in both Matriculation and ITI will be considered for the final merit.
  • Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list will be called for Document Verification. It is crucial to carry all original documents, along with self-attested copies, as specified in the official notification. Any discrepancy or missing document will lead to disqualification.
  • Medical Examination: After successful document verification, candidates will undergo a prescribed medical examination to ensure they meet the physical fitness standards required for the apprenticeship.
