Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Age : Not Applicable
• Maximum Age : 32 Years (as on the cut-off date specified in the official notification).
• Age Relaxation : Extra age relaxation will be applicable as per UPSC rules for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH etc.).
• Educational Qualification : Candidates must have successfully passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination.
• Provisional Application : Candidates who have appeared for the final M.B.B.S. examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply provisionally, provided they submit proof of passing the examination at the time of the Personality Test / Interview.
• Internship Requirement : It is generally required to have completed or be completing the compulsory rotating internship by a specified date (as per official notification) to be eligible for appointment.

Selection Process

• The selection for UPSC Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2025 involves two major stages:
• Stage I: Written Examination (Computer Based Test – CBT): This stage is divided into two papers, each carrying 250 marks and a duration of 2 hours.
  • Paper-I covers General Medicine and Paediatrics.
  • Paper-II covers Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine.
  • The written examination assesses the candidate’s comprehensive knowledge in various medical disciplines.
• Stage II: Personality Test / Interview: Candidates who qualify the written examination based on the cut-off marks are called for a Personality Test, which carries a maximum of 100 marks. This stage evaluates the candidate’s general knowledge, intellectual ability, ethical values, leadership qualities, and overall suitability for a medical officer’s role in government service.

• Step 1 : Visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at upsc.gov.in.
• Step 2 : Navigate to the “Results” section on the homepage, usually found in the “What’s New” or “Examinations” tab.
• Step 3 : Look for the specific link related to “Final Result – Combined Medical Services Examination 2025” or “Reserve List – Combined Medical Services Examination 2025” and click on it.
• Step 4 : The result will be available in PDF format, containing the roll numbers and names of the provisionally selected candidates. You can open and view this PDF directly.
