  • Eligibility Criteria :
    • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in one of the specified branches: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
    • Applicants who are in their final year/semester of the Engineering Degree course and are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply provisionally. However, they must produce proof of passing the Engineering Degree examination along with their application for the Main Examination.
    • The degree must be obtained from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament, or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess equivalent qualifications.

UPSC Engineering Services Pre Recruitment 2027 : Mode Of Selection
  • Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) – This stage comprises two objective papers: General Studies & Engineering Aptitude (Paper-I) and Engineering Discipline specific (Paper-II). Candidates must qualify in this stage to be eligible for the Main Examination.
  • Stage 2: Main Examination (Conventional Type) – This stage involves two conventional descriptive papers for each engineering discipline. The marks obtained in the Main Examination determine the candidates shortlisted for the Personality Test.
  • Stage 3: Personality Test – This is the final stage, also known as the Interview. Candidates’ mental aptitude, critical thinking, leadership qualities, ethical approach, and overall suitability for public service are assessed.
