Payment Mode (Online): Although no fee is required, for other applications, payments are typically made via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Card / Mobile Wallet.
Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit for OTR: There is No Age Limit for registering for UPSC One Time Registration (OTR). Candidates of any age can register for OTR.
Eligibility for OTR: All candidates aspiring to apply for various recruitments conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are advised to complete their One Time Registration (OTR). This is a foundational step to streamline future application processes. Interested candidates who wish to apply for various UPSC posts must first complete the UPSC One Time Registration (OTR). This can be done online before 31 December 2025.
Step 1: Access the OTR Portal: Use the direct “Apply Online” link provided below in the Important Links section, or visit the official UPSC website (upsc.gov.in) and navigate to the One Time Registration portal.
Step 2: New Registration: Click on the “New Registration” link. Provide your basic details such as Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Nationality, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Security Question.
Step 3: Verify Details: An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number and email ID. Enter the OTPs to verify your contact details.
Step 4: Create Password: Set a password for your OTR account and complete the registration process.
Step 5: Login and Fill Remaining Details: Log in using your registered Email ID/Mobile Number/OTR ID and password. Fill in additional details such as educational qualifications, address, and upload scanned copies of your passport-size photograph and signature as per the specifications (size and format).
Step 6: Review and Final Submission: Carefully review all the entered information before final submission. After submission, you will receive your OTR ID.
Note – Candidates are requested to carefully read the Official Notification for OTR before filling the form. Ensure all details are accurate to avoid issues with future applications.
Benefit of OTR: The One Time Registration system simplifies the application process for candidates, as they only need to fill their basic personal details once. This information is then automatically populated in future application forms for various UPSC examinations, saving considerable time and effort.
