The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has released the notification for BCECE (LE) 2026. This examination facilitates lateral entry into the second year of graduate-level engineering, para-medical, and pharmacy courses. Eligible candidates can apply online from April 09, 2026, to May 07, 2026. Candidates are advised to review the complete details and official notification before applying.
Minimum Age (For Graduate Engineer Courses): No Age Limit as on 31/12/2026
Minimum Age (For Para-Medical & Pharmacy Courses): 18 Years as on 31/12/2026
Maximum Age: No Age Limit for all courses.
Total Seats: 13,000+ Seats for Lateral Entry across various courses.
Selection Process
Entrance Examination: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the BCECE (LE) Entrance Examination. The exam will assess candidates’ knowledge in relevant subjects.
Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in the entrance examination. Higher ranks on the merit list will increase the chances of securing admission to preferred courses and institutions.
Counselling Process: Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be invited for online counselling. This stage involves choice filling, document verification, and subsequent seat allotment based on rank and availability.
Document Verification: During counselling, candidates must present all original documents for verification. Failure to provide valid documents may lead to disqualification.
Medical Examination: Candidates may be required to undergo a medical fitness examination as per the norms of the respective courses/institutions.

Passed Minimum THREE Years / TWO Years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of Engineering and Technology. OR
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. OR
Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
(Note: Universities may offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing, etc., for students from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes.)
Para Medical Degree Course Group:
Passed a two-year Para Medical Diploma Course recognized by the Government of Bihar/Government of India.
Candidates appearing in the final examination of the two-year Para Medical Diploma course can also apply; however, it is mandatory to have passed the examination by the time of interview/counselling.
Candidates will be eligible for enrollment in the second year of a higher para-medical degree related to the para-medical diploma course from which they have passed.
If a higher para-medical degree course is not available in the candidate’s diploma course field, such candidates will not be eligible to appear in this lateral entrance examination.
Pharmacy Degree Course Group:
Passed a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy Course recognized by the Government of Bihar/Government of India.
Candidates appearing in the final examination of the two-year Pharmacy Diploma course can also apply; however, it is mandatory to have passed the examination by the time of interview/counselling.

BCECE-LE 2026 : Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The BCECE (LE) Entrance Examination typically comprises questions from relevant subjects pertaining to the diploma/degree qualification for lateral entry.

The last date to apply online for BCECE (LE) 2026 is 07 May 2026.
For Graduate Engineering courses, there is No Age Limit. For Para-Medical and Pharmacy courses, the minimum age is 18 Years as on 31 December 2026. There is no maximum age limit for any course.
Candidates applying for Engineering must have passed a 3-year/2-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma or a B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics in 10+2. For Para-Medical and Pharmacy, a 2-year Diploma in the respective fields from a recognized institution is required. Final year candidates can also apply but must pass by counseling.
There are 13,000+ seats available for lateral entry into various Engineering, Para-Medical, and Pharmacy courses.
The application fee for General, BC, EBC, SC, ST, and DQ categories is ₹ 2200/-. Payment can be made online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Card / Mobile Wallet.
