Selection Process
The selection process for Indian Air Force Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Airmen (Intake 02/2027) comprises several stages designed to assess a candidate’s intellectual, physical, and medical fitness.
Phase I: Online Written Test (Proficiency Test & English Written Test)

Indian Air Force Group Y/Medical Assistant Airmen : Eligibility Criteria & Physical Standards
Educational Qualification:
Medical Assistant Trade (10+2 Entry): Candidates must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. They must secure at least 50% aggregate marks and a minimum of 50% marks in English. Alternatively, candidates with a two-year vocational course including non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) with the same minimum marks from a recognized board are also eligible.
Medical Assistant Trade (Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy Entry): Candidates must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, securing at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English. Additionally, they must possess a Diploma or B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized institution, along with valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
Medical Standards / Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

For candidates above 21 years of age and holding Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes 30 Seconds.

Height: Minimum 152.5 cms.
Chest: Should be well-proportioned and well-developed with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms.
Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, i.e., able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
Visual Standards: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/9 each eye; Maximum limits of Refractive Error Not exceeding + 3.50D including Astigmatism.
