Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Age : 20 Years as on 03 July 2026
• Maximum Age : 30 Years for Unreserved (UR) / Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates as on 03 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation : BSNL provides age relaxation for the Junior Telecom Officer (JTO) position as per their regulations.
• OBC-NCL : Maximum 33 Years (3 years relaxation)
• SC/ ST : Maximum 35 Years (5 years relaxation)
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : Up to 10 years relaxation (i.e., maximum 40 years for UR, 43 for OBC, 45 for SC/ST).
• BSNL Employees / Ex-Servicemen : As per Government of India & BSNL rules, generally up to 10 years relaxation.

• A minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the qualifying degree is mandatory. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for specific details regarding percentage relaxation, if any, for reserved categories.

Selection Process

• 1. Online CBT Examination: The primary stage of selection involves an Online Computer Based Test (CBT). This exam assesses the candidate’s technical knowledge in their respective engineering discipline, general aptitude, and other relevant subjects.
  • Tip: Prepare thoroughly based on the syllabus provided in the official notification. Focus on core engineering subjects, general English, reasoning, and current affairs. Practice mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.
• 2. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the CBT exam will be called for Document Verification. This stage ensures that all information provided in the application form, including educational qualifications, age, and category claims, are accurate and supported by original documents.
  • Required Documents: Original and self-attested copies of:
    • Educational Certificates (10th, 12th, B.E./B.Tech mark sheets and degree certificates).
    • Age Proof (10th mark sheet/Birth Certificate).
    • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in the prescribed format issued by a competent authority.
    • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate (if applicable).
    • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Certificate (if applicable).
    • Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License).
    • Passport-size photographs.
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed in Government/PSU.
    • Domicile Certificate (if required).

• 3. Medical Examination: Candidates who successfully clear the Document Verification stage will undergo a Medical Examination. This is to ascertain that candidates meet the prescribed physical and medical standards required for the Junior Telecom Officer post in BSNL.
