Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria- Minimum Age : 18 Years (as on 01 January 2025)
- Maximum Age : 40 Years (as on 01 January 2025)
- Age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH) as per the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) regulations.
- For Group C (Clerk) Posts: Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) examination from a board recognized by the Government of West Bengal.
- For Group D Posts: Candidates must have passed Class 8 from a school or board recognized by the Government of West Bengal.

Selection Process- The selection process for WBSSC Group C & D positions is comprehensive, ensuring that only suitable candidates are recruited.
- Written Examination: This is the initial stage, comprising an objective-type test designed to assess candidates’ general awareness, arithmetic aptitude, and language proficiency.
- Skill Test / Interview: For Group C (Clerk) posts, a skill test (e.g., typing or computer proficiency) may be conducted. Both Group C and D candidates may face a personality test or interview to evaluate their communication skills, general knowledge, and overall suitability.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates who qualify in the preceding stages will be called for document verification. All original educational, age, and caste certificates will be scrutinized.
- Medical Examination: A final medical fitness test will be conducted as per the prescribed standards of WBSSC to ensure candidates are physically fit for the respective posts.

How to Download Admit Card- Step 1 : Visit the official website of the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) at www.westbengalssc.com or click the direct “Download Admit Card” link provided in the Important Links section below.
- Step 2 : On the homepage, navigate to the “Admit Card / Candidate Login” section.
- Step 3 : Look for the notification or link titled “WBSSC Group C & D Admit Card 2026” and click on it.
- Step 4 : You will be prompted to enter your login credentials. Carefully enter your Application Number / Registration Number and your Date of Birth (or Password, if required).
- Step 5 : Complete the security captcha verification (if displayed) and click on the “Submit / Login” button to view your admit card.
- Step 6 : Your WBSSC Group C & D Admit Card 2026 will be displayed on the screen. Download the PDF file and take at least two to three clear printouts for future reference and to carry to the examination hall. Ensure all details on the admit card are correct.

Exam Pattern- Mode of Exam: Written Examination (Objective Type – OMR Based)
- Subjects for Group C (Clerk): General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Arithmetic, English Language. The specific weightage for each subject will be detailed in the official notification.

What to Carry to Exam- Printed Admit Card: A clear, legible printout of your WBSSC Group C & D Admit Card 2026. Digital copies are not allowed.
- Valid Photo ID Proof: Original government-issued photo identification such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License. Ensure the ID matches the details on your admit card.
- Passport Size Photographs: Two recent passport-size photographs (preferably the same as uploaded in the application form).
- Pen: A black or blue ballpoint pen. Carrying any other writing instrument may be prohibited.
- Water Bottle: A transparent water bottle (optional, subject to examination center rules).
- Prohibited Items: Do NOT carry any electronic gadgets like mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, headphones, or any study material into the examination hall. Any candidate found with such items will be disqualified.
