Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit as on 01 January 2027:

Minimum Age : 21 Years
Maximum Age : 40 Years

Eligibility Criteria for RPSC RAS Pre Recruitment 2026:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (RAS Pre): This is a screening test consisting of one paper on General Knowledge & General Science. Candidates declared qualified in the Preliminary Examination are admitted to the Main Examination. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for final selection.
Stage 2: Main Examination (RAS Mains): Candidates who clear the Prelims are eligible for Mains. This consists of four descriptive/analytical papers. The marks obtained in the Main Examination are counted for final selection.
Stage 3: Interview: Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination are called for an interview, which carries a specific weightage in the final selection process. The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, communication skills, general awareness, and suitability for public service.
Stage 4: Document Verification: After the interview, candidates provisionally selected will undergo document verification. All original educational certificates, caste certificates (if applicable), domicile certificates, and other relevant documents will be scrutinized. Any discrepancy can lead to disqualification.
Stage 5: Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness examination as per the prescribed standards of the RPSC to ensure they are physically fit for the respective posts.
