Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (As On 01 September 2026):
• Minimum Age : 20 Years
• Maximum Age : 28 Years (Correction: Main notification consistently states 28 years, while one FAQ item mentioned 25 years. Adhering to 28 years as the primary age limit.)
• Age relaxation will be provided for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories as per the Government of India rules and Canara Bank’s specific regulations. Candidates must refer to the official notification for detailed age relaxation norms.
• Educational Qualification:
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (e.g., B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.Tech, BCA, BBA, etc.) from a University or Institution recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies. The degree should be completed and the result declared by the cut-off date mentioned in the official notification.
• Local Language Knowledge: In addition to the educational qualification, the candidate should have adequate knowledge of the local language (reading, writing, and speaking proficiency) of the state/region where the vacancy is located and for which they are applying. This is a mandatory condition for eligibility and will be assessed during the selection process.

Selection Process

• The selection process for Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is designed to evaluate candidates’ suitability for the apprentice role. It primarily involves the following stages:
• 1. Shortlisting based on Merit: Candidates will be initially shortlisted based on the marks obtained in their Bachelor’s Degree. Higher academic performance will be a key factor in this stage. The bank reserves the right to decide the cut-off percentage for shortlisting.
• 2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a rigorous document verification process. It is mandatory to present all original educational certificates (mark sheets, degree certificate), identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID), age proof, caste/category certificates (if applicable), domicile certificate, and other documents as specified in the official notification. Any discrepancy or failure to produce required documents may lead to immediate disqualification.
• 3. Local Language Test: A crucial part of the selection, candidates will undergo a test to assess their proficiency in the local language of the state/region for which they have applied. This test will evaluate the candidate’s ability to read, write, and speak the specified local language fluently. This is a qualifying stage, and candidates must pass to proceed further.
• 4. Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who successfully clear all preceding stages will be required to undergo a medical examination. The final offer of engagement as an Apprentice is strictly subject to the candidate being found medically fit as per the bank’s prescribed standards.
