Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be born between 01 June 2010 and 31 July 2012 (both dates inclusive).
Age relaxation is provided for eligible categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) as per Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) regulations and Government of India norms.
Candidates must be bona fide residents of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is located and to which admission is sought.
Candidates must have passed the Class 10th (Matriculation) examination from a Government or Government-recognized school in the same district during the academic session 2026-27 (for 2027-28 admission).
The candidate must apply for admission to the Navodaya school located in the same district where they reside and have completed their Class 10th.
Selection Process
Entrance Test (JNVST): Admission to Class 11th is primarily through a Lateral Entry Selection Test, also known as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). This test evaluates candidates on various subjects including Mental Ability, English, Science, and Mathematics.
Merit-Based Selection: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the JNVST. A district-wise merit list will be prepared according to the marks obtained.
Document Verification: Provisionally selected candidates will be called for document verification. This stage requires candidates to present all original documents such as Class 10th mark sheet, age proof (birth certificate), residence certificate, and category certificates (if applicable). Any discrepancy may lead to disqualification.
Counselling: Post document verification, candidates will attend a counselling session where they might be allotted streams (Science, Commerce, Arts) based on their merit, availability of seats, and NVS guidelines.
Final Admission: Final admission will be granted only after successful completion of all preceding stages and fulfillment of all eligibility criteria.

NVS Class 11th Admission 2027-28 : Eligibility & Admission Details
Exam Name: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class 11th Admission.
Admission Class: Class-XI (11th) for the academic session 2027-28.
Residential Criteria: Candidates must be bona fide residents of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is located and to which they are seeking admission.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Class 10th examination from a Government or Government-recognized school located in the same district as the JNV, during the academic session 2026-27.
Application Restriction: A candidate can apply for admission only to the JNV located in the district of his/her residence and from where he/she has passed Class 10th.
Stream Allotment: Allotment of streams (Science, Commerce, Arts) will be based on the candidate’s merit in the JNVST, Class 10th marks, and the availability of seats in the chosen stream within the JNV. Specific criteria for each stream will be detailed in the official prospectus.
