Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit (as on May 01, 2027):
    • Candidates must be born between 01 May 2012 and 31 July 2014 (both dates inclusive).
    • Age relaxation for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be applicable as per the rules and regulations of the Government of India and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Candidates must refer to the official prospectus for specific details.
    • Eligibility Criteria:
      • District Residency: The candidate must be a resident of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is located and where admission for Class 9th is sought. This ensures that students primarily from the rural areas are benefited.

Selection Process

  • Stage 1: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)
    • Candidates are required to appear for an objective-type written entrance examination. This test assesses the candidate’s proficiency in English, Hindi, Mathematics, and Science, based on the Class 8th syllabus. Performance in this test is the primary criterion for provisional selection.
    • Stage 2: Merit-Based Selection
