Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (As On 31 August 2026)

• Age Limit: The age criteria vary significantly based on the specific post applied for, as detailed in the official notification.
• Minimum Age : 23 – 35 Years (Post Wise)
• Maximum Age : 35 – 50 Years (Post Wise)
• Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) as per Government of India rules and SBI’s internal regulations. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for detailed age relaxation policies.
• Generally, a Graduation Degree from a Government-recognized university/institution is mandatory.
• Many posts require a Post Graduate Degree (MBA/PG Diploma) in specialized fields like Banking, Finance, Marketing, Commerce, etc., often with a minimum percentage (e.g., 60% marks).
• Specific professional certifications such as CFP, CFA, NISM (V-A, Investment Advisor, Research Analyst, 21-A, XXI-A) are often essential.
• A minimum number of years of relevant experience in banking, wealth management, or financial services is a crucial requirement, varying from 3 years to 15 years depending on the seniority of the post.

Selection Process

• Stage 1: Shortlisting:
  • Initial screening of applications will be conducted based on the eligibility criteria, academic qualifications, and relevant work experience provided by the candidates.
  • Mere fulfillment of minimum qualifications and experience does not automatically guarantee an interview call. SBI reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on internal parameters and criteria, which may include a higher cutoff for qualifications or experience.
  • The number of candidates called for interview will be decided by the bank based on the total number of vacancies and the applications received.
• Stage 2: Interview:
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview. The interview aims to assess candidates’ domain knowledge, communication skills, leadership potential, personality traits, and overall suitability for the respective Specialist Cadre Officer positions.
  • The interview will carry significant weightage in the final selection process.
1. Stage 3: Merit List:
   • A final merit list will be prepared based on the consolidated marks obtained in the interview stage.
   • Candidates will be selected in order of merit, strictly subject to meeting all eligibility criteria and successful completion of subsequent verification stages.
2. Stage 4: Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination:
   • Selected candidates from the merit list will undergo mandatory document verification to ensure the authenticity and validity of all submitted credentials, including educational qualifications, experience certificates, age proof, and caste certificates (if applicable).
   • A medical examination will also be conducted to ensure candidates meet the physical fitness standards prescribed by the bank for the respective posts. Final appointment is contingent upon clearing both the document verification and medical fitness tests.
