Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age as on 31 July 2026
• Minimum Age : 21 Years (For Trade Finance Officer JMGS I)
• Maximum Age : 30 Years (For Trade Finance Officer JMGS I)
• Minimum Age : 23 Years (For Trade Finance Officer MMGS II)
• Maximum Age : 32 Years (For Trade Finance Officer MMGS II)
• Age Relaxation: SBI provides age relaxation for the Trade Finance Officer position as per Government of India regulations for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD). Details will be available in the official notification.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Central/State Government or UGC.
• Certification: A mandatory certification in Forex from IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking & Finance) or another accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates holding additional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist), Certificate in Trade Finance, or International Banking.
• Experience:
  • For Trade Finance Officer (JMGS I): Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in a supervisory or official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.
  • For Trade Finance Officer (MMGS II): Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in a supervisory or official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting: Candidates will be initially shortlisted based on their eligibility criteria, academic qualifications, and relevant post-qualification experience as submitted in their application. For a large number of applications, SBI may decide to hold an online written examination. However, as per the current notification, the primary mode is shortlisting.
• Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview aims to assess the candidate’s communication skills, leadership qualities, analytical ability, domain knowledge in Trade Finance, and overall suitability for the role. Candidates should prepare for questions related to banking, current economic affairs, and specific aspects of trade finance operations.
• Document Verification: Prior to the interview or at a later stage, candidates will undergo document verification to confirm the authenticity of their educational qualifications, experience certificates, age proof, caste certificates (if applicable), and other submitted documents.
  • Documents Required for Verification:
    • Printout of the online application form
    • Original and self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates (Mark sheets and Degree certificates)
    • Experience certificates/relieving letters from previous employers
    • Proof of Date of Birth (e.g., Class 10th certificate)
    • Photo Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, etc.)
    • Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in the prescribed format, if applicable
    • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate, if applicable
    • Disability Certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if employed in Government/PSU
    • Recent Passport-size photographs
• Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Interview. SBI reserves the right to set minimum qualifying marks for the interview.
