The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released Notification No. 11/2026 (Advertisement No. 747) dated 6 October 2026 for 6,574 tentative vacancies across 46 post entries in the Combined Civil Services Examination-IV (Group IV Services), including Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant, Typist, Steno-Typist, Bill Collector and Forest Watcher. The last date to apply has been extended to 8 November 2026 (11:59 PM) from 5 November 2026, and the upper age limit has been raised by five years for all categories by G.O. (Ms) No. 68 dated 30 October 2026. The written examination will be held on 10 January 2027.

Age Limit
Minimum age 18 years. The upper age limit has been raised by five years for all categories by G.O. (Ms) No. 68 dated 30 October 2026: General / Others (OC) — 37 years; BC / BCM / MBC / DNC — 39 years; SC / SC(A) / ST / Destitute Widows — 42 years.
Age is calculated as per Notification No. 11/2026; other relaxations apply as per TNPSC rules.
Eligibility Criteria
Education: SSLC (Class 10) pass for most posts; Higher Secondary (+2) for some posts. Typist and Steno-Typist posts need the prescribed typewriting / shorthand qualification.
Language: Knowledge of Tamil is required as per the notification.
Post-wise educational qualification, technical qualification and other conditions are given in Notification No. 11/2026 — read it before applying.
Selection Process
Single-stage written examination (OMR-based) — 200 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours (09:30 AM to 12:30 PM).
Selection is on merit in the written examination, followed by document verification and counselling as per the notification.
How to Apply
Visit the official TNPSC website at tnpsc.gov.in and open the online application portal at apply.tnpscexams.in.
Complete One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not done so (₹ 150, valid for five years; Aadhaar linking is mandatory).
Log in to the candidate dashboard and select the Group IV Services examination (Notification No. 11/2026).
Fill in your personal, educational and post-preference details and upload your photograph and signature.
Pay the examination fee of ₹ 100/- online (unless exempt) and submit the form before 08/11/2026 (11:59 PM). Corrections can be made from 09/11/2026 to 11/11/2026.
There are 6,574 tentative vacancies across 46 post entries, including 2,610 Junior Assistant (Non-Security), 1,570 Typist, 422 Junior Assistant (Accounts), 375 Steno-Typist and 291 Village Administrative Officer posts.
The last date to apply online is 8 November 2026 at 11:59 PM. It was extended from 5 November 2026 by TNPSC press release No. 127/2026 dated 4 November 2026.
