UP SCVTUP ITI Admission 2026 : Eligibility Criteria
  • Other Programmes (e.g., Electrician, Fitter): Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from any recognized board in India. This typically implies a Science stream and is required for most engineering trades.
  • COPA Programme (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant): Candidates must have passed High School (Class 10th) from any recognized board in India. This program focuses on computer operations and basic programming skills.
  • Other 10th Pass Trades: For many non-engineering trades (e.g., Welder, Carpenter, Plumber, Fashion Design, etc.), a simple Class 10th pass certificate from a recognized board is generally sufficient. Specific trade requirements will be detailed in the official prospectus.
  • 8th Pass Trades: Some specific trades might also be available for candidates who have passed Class 8th from a recognized school. Applicants are advised to check the detailed prospectus for such options and their eligibility.

UP SCVTUP ITI Admission 2026 : Mode Of Selection
  • Merit List: The primary basis for admission to various ITI trades is a merit list. This list is prepared solely based on the marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying examination (i.e., Class 10th or Class 12th, depending on the trade’s eligibility criteria). Higher marks in the qualifying exam generally lead to a better position on the merit list.
  • Document Verification (DV): Candidates who are shortlisted based on the merit list will be invited for document verification. During this stage, applicants must present their original educational certificates, caste certificates (if applicable), domicile certificates, and other relevant documents for verification. Any discrepancy may lead to disqualification.
  • Counselling & Seat Allotment: Following successful document verification, eligible candidates will participate in counselling sessions. During counselling, candidates can choose their preferred ITI institute and trade based on their merit rank and the availability of seats. Seats are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis within the merit category.
