Selection Process
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT Exam): This is the initial screening stage. Candidates will undertake an online computer-based examination. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions designed to assess technical knowledge specific to the post (Mining Sirdar or Electrical Foreman) and general aptitude. Candidates must clear this stage to proceed.
Stage 2: Document Verification (DV): Candidates who successfully qualify the CBT will be invited for document verification. At this stage, applicants must present all original documents including educational certificates, experience certificates, age proof, caste certificates (if applicable), and other relevant testimonials as specified in the official notification. Self-attested photocopies of all documents are also required. Any discrepancy or missing document can lead to disqualification.
Stage 3: Medical Examination: Post successful document verification, shortlisted candidates will undergo a comprehensive medical examination. This is mandatory to ensure that candidates meet the physical fitness standards prescribed by WCL for working in a challenging mining environment. The medical fitness criteria will be strictly as per WCL’s official norms.

Candidates must possess a valid Mining Sirdar Certificate from DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety) along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant underground mining experience.
OR
Candidates must hold a Diploma in Mining Engineering from a Government-recognized institute, coupled with a valid Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS.
In both the above cases, applicants are mandatorily required to possess valid DGMS Gas Testing Certificates and First-Aid Certificates.
Candidates must have successfully completed a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an institute recognized by the Government.
Additionally, a valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Mines, which is issued by the appropriate Government authority, is an essential prerequisite for this position.
Age Limit: The minimum age required is 18 Years and the maximum age is 30 Years as on 10 August 2026. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PH) categories will be applicable as per the existing Government of India rules and WCL’s specific recruitment regulations.
Computer Based Test (CBT Exam): The selection process will commence with a Computer Based Test. This objective-type examination will evaluate candidates on their technical knowledge pertinent to the respective posts (Mining Sirdar or Electrical Foreman) and general aptitude. Document Verification (DV): Candidates who are shortlisted based on their performance in the CBT will be called for Document Verification. Medical Examination: After successful completion of the Document Verification process, candidates will undergo a mandatory medical examination.
