Short Information :
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has released a short notice for the recruitment of Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Stenographer positions. A total of 242 vacancies have been announced. The online application process will commence on 27th July 2026 and conclude on 16th August 2026. Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (as on 16 August 2026)

Age Relaxation: ISRO provides age relaxation for various categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen) for the Assistant & Junior Personal Assistant positions as per Government of India rules and their regulations. Please refer to the official notification for specific details on age relaxation.
Selection Process
Stage 1: Written Exam: Candidates will first appear for a written examination. This test typically assesses General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language skills. The exam will be a screening test, and marks obtained in this stage may be used for shortlisting candidates for the next stage.
Stage 2: Skill Test: Candidates who qualify the written exam will proceed to a skill test.
For Assistant/UDC: This may involve a Computer Literacy Test (e.g., proficiency in MS Office, data entry, typing skills).
For Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer: This will involve an English Stenography Test, requiring a speed of 60 words per minute. A computer proficiency test might also be included.
The skill test will be qualifying in nature, meaning candidates must achieve a minimum standard to be considered for further selection.
Stage 3: Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates from the skill test will be called for document verification. Candidates must present all original educational certificates, experience certificates, age proof, caste certificates (if applicable), and other relevant documents as specified in the official notification. Failure to produce required documents will lead to disqualification.
Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on the merit achieved in the Written Examination, subject to qualifying the Skill Test and successful Document Verification.

ISRO Assistant & Junior Personal Assistant Recruitment 2026 : Important Questions & Answers
The online application for this recruitment will start on 27 July 2026.

The application fee is ₹500/- for all categories (General/OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PH/Female). A refund of ₹400/- (for Gen/OBC/EWS) or ₹500/- (for SC/ST/PH/Female) will be provided after appearing in the Written Test.
The minimum age required is 18 Years and the maximum age is 28 Years as on 16 August 2026. Age relaxation will be provided as per ISRO regulations.
For Assistant/UDC, a Graduation degree with 60% marks and computer proficiency is required. For Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer, a Graduation degree or Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with 60% marks, 1-year experience, 60 w.p.m. English Stenography speed, and computer proficiency are required.
