Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (as on 08 September 2026)
Minimum Age : As per post-wise requirements, generally linked to completion of essential medical qualifications.
Maximum Age for Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) :30 Years
Maximum Age for Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant) :40 Years
Maximum Age for Super Specialist Medical Officer (Second-in-Command) :50 Years

Selection Process
Document Verification: Candidates will first undergo thorough verification of all original documents related to educational qualifications, experience, age, caste, etc. Any discrepancy will lead to immediate disqualification.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be assessed for prescribed physical standards including height, chest, and weight. Those failing to meet these standards will be rejected.
Interview / Personality Test: Shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview to assess their communication skills, general awareness, aptitude, and suitability for the medical officer role in CAPF.
Medical Examination: A comprehensive medical examination will be conducted to ensure candidates meet the stringent medical fitness standards required for service in the Central Armed Police Forces. This includes checks for vision, hearing, physical deformities, and other health parameters.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have an MBBS Degree with a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty from a recognized university or institution (MCI/NMC recognized). Additionally, 1.5 Years of Experience in the relevant field is required after obtaining the PG qualification.
Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command)
No. Of Post: 05 Posts
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have an MBBS Degree, a Post Graduate Degree, and a DM (Doctorate of Medicine) Degree or M.Ch (Magister Chirurgiae) in the concerned super-specialty from a recognized university or institution (MCI/NMC recognized). Additionally, 03 Years of Experience in the relevant super-specialty is required after obtaining the DM/M.Ch qualification.
The online application for this recruitment will start on 10 August 2026.
The last date for online application for the ITBP CAPF Medical Officer post is 08 September 2026.
The application fee is ₹ 400/- for General, OBC, EWS candidates, while SC/ST candidates are exempted from the fee (₹ 00/-).
The maximum age limit is 30 Years for Medical Officers, 40 Years for Specialist Medical Officers, and 50 Years for Super Specialist Medical Officers, as on 08 September 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable as per ITBP rules.
