Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit as on 01 April 2027:
  • Minimum Age : 10 years
  • Maximum Age : 12 years
  • Age relaxations will be applicable as per the rules mentioned in the official SAV notification. This age calculation ensures students are within the appropriate age range for Class 6 admission.
• Eligibility Criteria:
  • The candidate must be currently studying in Class 5 in a recognized school of Bihar. A recognized school implies it is affiliated with a board such as BSEB, CBSE, ICSE, etc., and located within the state of Bihar.

Selection Process

• Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Pre Exam)
  • This is the first screening stage designed to shortlist candidates for the Mains Exam. It typically includes objective-type questions covering subjects like Mathematics, Mental Ability, Language (Hindi/English), and General Knowledge appropriate for a Class 5 level student.
  • Candidates must qualify this stage to proceed.
• Stage 2: Main Examination (Mains Exam)
  • Candidates who clear the Pre Exam will appear for the Mains Exam. This examination is more comprehensive and usually includes descriptive or higher-level objective questions in subjects such as Mathematics, English, Hindi, Science, and Social Science.
  • The performance in the Mains Exam will primarily determine the merit list for admission.
1. Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Test
   • Shortlisted candidates based on the Mains Exam merit list will be called for document verification. This involves checking the authenticity of all submitted documents (birth certificate, domicile, caste certificate, Class 5 report card, etc.).
   • A medical examination may also be conducted to ensure the candidate’s fitness for residential school environment.

How to Apply

• Interested candidates who wish to apply for the SAV Bihar Class 6 Admission 2027-28 can submit their application online before 18 August 2026.
• Step 1: Visit the official application portal using the ‘Apply Online’ link provided below in the Important Links section.
• Step 2: Register by providing necessary details and obtain your registration ID and password.
• Step 3: Log in with your credentials and fill out the application form carefully with all required personal and educational details.
• Step 4: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and any other required documents as per the specified format and size.
• Step 5: Pay the application fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Card / Mobile Wallet before the last date, 18 September 2026.
• Step 6: Review your application form for any errors before final submission and take a printout of the submitted form and fee receipt for future reference.
