Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Age : 18 Years
• Maximum Age : 25 Years
• Age Limit as on : 27 October 2026
• Age Relaxation : Age relaxation will be provided as per ITBP rules for various categories (SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen). Please refer to the official notification for detailed information on age relaxation.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Candidates must have passed 12th Class from a recognized Board or University.
  • Candidates must possess an ITI Certificate with a 3 years Diploma in Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution. The diploma must be in the relevant trade of Motor Mechanic.

Selection Process

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST): This is the initial stage to assess candidates’ physical fitness and measurements. PET typically includes running, long jump, and high jump. PST involves measuring height, chest (for males), and weight.
• Document Verification: Candidates who qualify PET/PST will undergo document verification. It is crucial to have all original documents ready, including educational certificates (10th, 12th, ITI/Diploma), caste certificates (if applicable), domicile certificate, identity proof, and recent passport-size photographs.
• Written Examination: A written test will be conducted to evaluate candidates’ knowledge in subjects such as General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, English, and trade-specific knowledge related to Motor Mechanics, as per the official syllabus.
• Skill / Practical Test: This stage will assess the practical skills of candidates in motor mechanic work, including identification of parts, troubleshooting, minor repairs, etc.
• Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying all preceding stages will undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet the prescribed medical standards for the ITBP force.
