• Border Road Organization (BRO) (For Male candidates only):
  • JE (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical): Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR Three-year Diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with two years experience in planning, execution, and maintenance of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical engineering works.
• Central Public Works Department (CPWD):
  • JE (Civil / Electrical): Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
1. Central Water Commission (CWC):
   • JE (Civil / Mechanical): Degree or Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
2. Farakka Barrage Project, Ministry of Jal Shakti:
   • JE (Civil / Electrical): Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
3. Military Engineer Services (MES):
   • JE (Civil / Electrical & Mechanical): Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR Three-year Diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with two years experience in planning, execution, and maintenance of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical engineering works.
4. National Technical Research Organization (NTRO):
   • JE (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
5. Director General of Lighthouses & Lightships, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways:
   • JE (Civil / Electrical): Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
6. Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (Brahmaputra Board):
   • JE (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
7. India Meteorological Department: Eligibility for Scientific Assistant Post (if any) will be as per the official notification. Candidates are advised to refer to the detailed advertisement for specific qualifications for this post.

Paper-I (Computer Based Examination)

• General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
• General Awareness: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
• General Engineering (Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical – as per choice): 100 Questions, 100 Marks
• Total: 200 Questions, 200 Marks
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Paper-II (Computer Based Examination – Descriptive Type)

• General Engineering (Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical – as per choice): 300 Marks
• Duration: 2 Hours
• This paper will have questions from the relevant Engineering discipline.

Paper-I Syllabus:

• General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, etc.
• General Awareness: Knowledge of current events, India and its neighbouring countries, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc.
• General Engineering (Civil & Structural): Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design.
• General Engineering (Electrical): Basic Concepts, Circuit Law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring Instruments, Electrical Machines, Synchronous Machine, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization of Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.
• General Engineering (Mechanical): Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials, Properties of Pure Substances, 1st Law of Thermodynamics, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Air Standard Cycles, Rankine Cycle, IC Engines, Compressors, Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Machinery, Production Engineering.

Paper-II Syllabus:

• The syllabus for Paper-II will be detailed and specific to the chosen Engineering discipline (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical) covering core concepts, design principles, and application-based problems. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for the exhaustive syllabus.

• Recent Passport Size Photograph: Scanned color passport size photograph (as per specifications mentioned in the official notification).
• Signature: Scanned signature (as per specifications).
• Educational Qualification Certificates: Scanned copies of Matriculation (10th Class), Intermediate (12th Class), Diploma/Degree certificates, Mark sheets.
• Caste Certificate (if applicable): For SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates, valid caste/category certificates in the prescribed format.
• Disability Certificate (if applicable): For Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
• Photo ID Proof: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport etc.
• Experience Certificate (if applicable): For posts requiring experience, relevant experience certificates.

• Solve Previous Year Papers: Regularly solve previous year’s question papers to understand the exam trend, important topics, and improve time management.
• Mock Tests: Take regular mock tests to simulate exam conditions, evaluate your performance, and identify weak areas.
• Revision: Consistently revise all subjects and formulas to retain information effectively.
• Time Management: Develop effective time management strategies for both papers, especially for the descriptive Paper-II.
