Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limits As On 01 July 2025:
  • Minimum Age : 18 Years.
  • Maximum Age : 25 Years (UR/ EWS-Male)
  • Maximum Age : 28 Years (UR/ EWS- Female)
  • Maximum Age : 30 Years (OBC/ SC/ ST- Male)
  • Maximum Age : 33 Years (OBC/ SC/ ST- Female)
• Age Relaxation: UP Police provides age relaxation for the Constable position as per their regulations. Candidates are advised to read the official notification for detailed age relaxation rules.
• Candidates must have passed 12th (Intermediate) from a recognized board in India.

UP Police Constable : Mode Of Selection

• Written Examination: The first stage is an OMR-based objective type written examination. Candidates must qualify this stage to proceed further.
• Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who clear the written exam will undergo a PST to assess their physical measurements (height, chest for males, weight for females) as per prescribed standards.
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Those who successfully pass the PST will participate in a PET, which includes a race of a specified distance to be completed within a given time limit. This tests the physical endurance of candidates.
• Document Verification (DV): Candidates qualifying in PET will have their original documents verified by the authorities. It is crucial to have all required documents in order and matching the application details.
• Medical Test: A final medical examination will be conducted to ensure candidates meet the required physical and medical fitness standards as prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

• Step 2 : Navigate to the ‘Latest Notifications’ or ‘Notice Board’ section on the homepage.
• Step 3 : Look for the notice titled “OMR Sheet Instruction for UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026” or similar relevant notification.
• Step 4 : Click on the designated link to open the OMR instructions, which will typically be in PDF format.
• Step 5 : Carefully read and understand all instructions regarding OMR sheet filling, marking answers, permissible stationery, and other exam day protocols to avoid any mistakes.
• Step 6 : Download the OMR Sheet Instruction PDF and save it. It is highly recommended to take a printout for thorough review and reference before the examination.

OMR Sheet Instructions and Exam Day Guidelines

• Use of Pen: Candidates must use only a Blue or Black Ballpoint Pen for marking answers on the OMR sheet. Gel pens, pencils, or any other writing instruments are strictly prohibited.
• Marking Answers: Each question will have four options. Darken the appropriate circle completely to mark your answer. Ensure the circle is fully filled without any partial marking or stray marks.
• Accuracy in Filling Details: Carefully fill in your Roll Number, Question Booklet Series/Set Code, and other personal details in the designated spaces on the OMR sheet. Any error in these details may lead to disqualification.
• No Corrections or Overwriting: Do not use whitener, blade, eraser, or any other means to make corrections on the OMR sheet. Once an answer is marked, it cannot be changed. Overwriting or multiple markings for a single question will be considered incorrect.
• Handling the OMR Sheet: Handle the OMR sheet with extreme care. Do not fold, tear, staple, or put any rough work on it. The OMR sheet is machine-readable, and any damage may render it unscannable.
• Signatures: Affix your signature and thumb impression (if required) in the specified areas on the OMR sheet and attendance sheet. Ensure they match your application form.
• Question Booklet & OMR Sheet Check: Before starting the exam, ensure the question booklet is complete and matches the series mentioned on the OMR sheet. Report any discrepancies to the invigilator immediately.

UP Police Constable Exam Pattern

• Mode of Exam: Offline, OMR-based Objective Type.
• Total Questions: The exam typically consists of 150 objective-type questions.
• Total Marks: The maximum marks for the examination are 300 (2 marks for each correct answer).
• Subjects Covered:
  • General Knowledge
  • General Hindi
  • Numerical & Mental Ability
  • Mental Aptitude / IQ / Reasoning Ability
• Negative Marking: There is negative marking for incorrect answers. Generally, 0.5 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
• Medium of Exam: Questions are generally set in both Hindi and English, except for the General Hindi section.

What to Carry to the Exam Centre

• Printed Admit Card: Carry at least two clear printouts of your UP Police Constable Admit Card.
• Valid Photo Identity Proof (Original): A government-issued photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, or Voter ID. Ensure the name on the ID matches the name on your admit card.
• Passport Size Photographs: Two recent passport-size photographs, preferably matching the one uploaded in your online application.
• Blue/Black Ballpoint Pen: As specified in the OMR Sheet Instructions, only these pens are allowed for marking answers.
• Transparent Water Bottle: (Optional) A transparent water bottle may be allowed in some centres.
• Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, electronic gadgets, books, notes, or any other unauthorized material are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
