Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Age : 18 Years
• Maximum Age : 30 Years
• Age Limit calculated as on 13 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation : AIIMS provides age relaxation for the NORCET 11th Phase position as per Government of India rules. Details for SC/ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and other categories will be available in the detailed official notification.
• Eligibility Criteria (Nursing Officer AIIMS):
  • Candidates must possess a B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University. OR
  • B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University. OR
  • Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board or Council.
    • Candidates with a GNM Diploma must also have two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.
  • All candidates must be Registered as a Nurse & Midwife with State / Indian Nursing Council.

Selection Process

• The selection process for AIIMS NORCET 11th Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 will involve two main stages:
  • Stage-I : Preliminary Computer Based Test (CBT) Exam (NORCET Prelims)
    • This is a qualifying examination. Candidates need to score minimum qualifying marks to proceed to the Mains exam.
    • The exam will assess general aptitude, reasoning, general knowledge, and nursing-specific knowledge.
    • Successful candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains exam based on their performance in Prelims.
  • Stage-II : Main Computer Based Test (CBT) Exam (NORCET Mains)
    • This stage will be the primary determinant for merit.
    • The Mains exam will have a higher weightage and will delve deeper into professional nursing knowledge and related subjects.
    • Candidates’ final merit list will be prepared based on their scores in the NORCET Mains exam.
  1. Document Verification (DV) : Shortlisted candidates from the Mains exam will undergo a comprehensive document verification process. All original certificates related to educational qualifications, age, category, experience, and registration with the nursing council must be presented for scrutiny. Discrepancies may lead to disqualification.
  2. Medical Examination : A medical fitness test will be conducted for provisionally selected candidates to ensure they meet the health standards required for the Nursing Officer position at AIIMS.
