Chhattisgarh SET 2026 : Detailed Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree (PG) or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in relevant subjects.
Candidates belonging to the General/EWS category must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent.
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year/semester of their Master’s degree or equivalent examination or whose result is still awaited may also apply provisionally. However, such candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination with the required percentage of marks within two years from the date of SET result.
PhD degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19 September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
Chhattisgarh SET 2026 : Exam Pattern
The SET examination will consist of two papers, Paper I and Paper II, both conducted in a single session.
Paper I: General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude
Number of Questions: 50
Marks: 100 (2 marks for each correct answer)
Duration: 1 hour (09:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.)
Nature: Common for all candidates, assesses reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
Paper II: Subject-Specific Paper
Number of Questions: 100
