Age Limit & Eligibility Criteria (As On 14 August 2026)

• Minimum Age : 21 Years
• Maximum Age : 30 Years
• Age Relaxation: DCB provides age relaxation for Assistant Engineer & Junior Engineer positions as per government regulations. Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) should refer to the official notification for specific details on age relaxation.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Assistant Engineer (Civil): Candidates must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): Candidates must possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil): Candidates must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university OR a Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Board/Institution.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical): Candidates must possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university OR a Three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Board/Institution.

Selection Process

• Screening Test: This is generally the first stage, often a preliminary written examination to shortlist candidates for further stages. It assesses general aptitude and basic technical knowledge relevant to the post.
• Subject Knowledge Test: Candidates shortlisted from the Screening Test will undergo a dedicated Subject Knowledge Test. This test will evaluate in-depth technical understanding specific to Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering disciplines for which they have applied.
• Interview (Viva-Voce): Qualified candidates from the written tests will be called for an interview. This stage assesses communication skills, personality, problem-solving abilities, and practical knowledge.
• Document Verification: Candidates provisionally selected after the interview will be required to present all original educational and experience certificates, caste certificates, age proof, and other relevant documents for verification. Any discrepancy may lead to disqualification.
• Medical Examination: Finally, shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the prescribed physical and medical standards required for the respective posts in the Delhi Cantonment Board.
